President Goodluck Jonathan has in recent times relieved some of his officials of their duties seemingly without warning.

Here are four officials that have been sacked summarily by Jonathan:
- Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Femi Thomas was relieved of his duties on Monday, April 27, 2015 and immediately replaced with Olufemi A. Akingbade.
- Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba was sacked on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 and replaced with Deputy Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase with immediate effect.
- Chairman of the Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRS), Kabiru Mashi was sacked on March 18, 2015 and replaced with FIRS Coordinating Director, Samuel Ogungbesan.
- Chairman of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P), Martin-Luther Agwai was sacked on March 10, 2015 and replaced with Ishaya Dare Akau.
